A while back, I wrote about being concerned about posting my
viewson a number of things, including religion and politics.
I hate being controversial,
but the majority of you left comments
saying that I should speak my mind...
and that even if you disagreed with me,
you'd still keep coming back.
I probably won't get up on too high of a soapbox,
but I am going to be more vocal about things that are truly important to me.
Sooooooo, I'm gonna start by telling you that I am a
Conservative Republican.
I agree 110% with the content, of the letter below*!
(The only difference is, we have not been able to save anything, so
our future looks pretty darn dim.)
My husband and I, are worried sick about the current state
(and future) of our nation.
And yes, I'm referring to the actions of
President Obama, his cabinet, and members of congress.
I'm not trying to stir up a hornets nest, but if I sit back and do nothing,
I will no longer be able to hold my head up high.
It is not un-American, to disagree with the actions
of our President, and members of congress.
It is my right and my responsibility, as a tax paying law abiding citizen,
to speak up when I see the principles that our nation was founded upon,
being not just chipped away...but being eradicated.
If you don't agree with me, that's your right too,
I know that my bloggy friends, would never dream
of doing this...
but if you are new here, I must ask that you refrain from leaving
leaving nasty comments.

*LETTER TO BILL O'REILLY AT FOX NEWS

Dear Bill,
On your program tonight, you asked, "Who are the people who marched in Washington on Saturday, September 12th?"
I'd like to tell you what I know. My husband and I are in our early 70's. We both have advanced degrees. Neither of us have ever been involved in politics. Neither of us have ever been in any kind of protest groups. We were both raised in church-going families. I am a retired journalist; he is a retired geophysicist. We have never committed crimes; we have always paid taxes. We have never cheated on our taxes. We were taught to love this country by examples of great sacrifice, of great bravery. We saw the soldiers, our uncles, come home from World War II.
We have paid our bills and saved for the future. We both put ourselves, and our children, through college. We believe in God. We believe in the worth of the individual, and we believe in self-reliance. We believe our country is great. Until recent months, we have never doubted the U.S. government.
This year we joined the Tea-Party movement. The meetings consist of mostly older people like us. I have seen proud men and women weep when they speak of what they feel is happening to our country. They are worried. They are scared. They are angry. They are outraged.
But they are also informed. They have studied the bills. They are determined to protect this country from the changes President Obama and the Liberal Democrats have repeatedly made apparent that they plan to carry out in their agenda. This agenda will put us more deeply than ever in debt, and will change this country into a welfare state.
We are not racists. This has nothing to do with appearance, and everything to do with substance. We have looked at Obama's associations, his actions, his attitudes, and his words, the people he has selected for his advisors, the actions of his Democratic representatives in Congress. When one considers all of this together, we cannot help but feel that Glen Beck's analysis of what is going on is correct. That ALL of these questionable people should be pulling the strings of our government at once would be too much of a coincidence to be contemplated.
We see the cronyism, the corruption, the arrogance, and the negligence of our government representatives. They speak and behave like the thugs they have become, and in the sacred halls of our Congress...they don't even bother to read what laws they are passing. We see them wasting our hard-earned money. We know that we, the 59 percent of Americans who pay taxes, are footing the bill for deadbeats, criminals, and neer do wells, who are that by choice -- not by circumstance. They don't pay taxes. We do.
Our elected officials don't listen to us. We see our money and jobs being given away to illegal aliens, to unions, to minorities, to big corporations. We see our President apologizing for America and criticizing our policies. We see that Obama and his advisors are anti Business, anti- Capitalism and anti-American. They are bent on centralizing and concentrating all power in Washington . We have studied the words of the Founders, and we believe that government should be limited, and responsible.
Congress and Obama have maligned us, ignored us, dismissed us, and called us names. But we WILL be heard.. We will expose them for what they are. We're watching their every move, every vote. We will judge them, not by their words, but by their actions. We will act, accordingly. You have not heard the last of us. While there is a breath, we will stand, as one man, for what we believe in. That is the American way.
