Monday Morning Funny - Of Not So Funny!

Indian Wanting Coffee:

An Indian walks into a cafe with a shotgun
In one hand pulling a male buffalo with the other.
He says to the waiter:

"Want coffee."
The waiter says, "Sure, Chief. Coming right up."

He gets the Indian a tall mug of coffee.....
The Indian drinks the coffee down in one gulp,
Turns and blasts the buffalo with the shotgun,
Causing parts of the animal to splatter everywhere And then just walks out.

The next morning the Indian returns.
He has his shotgun in one hand, pulling

Another
male buffalo with the other.
He walks up to the counter and says to
The waiter

"Want coffee."

The waiter says "Whoa, Tonto!

We're still cleaning up your mess from yesterday.

What was all that about, anyway?"

The Indian smiles and proudly says,

"Training for position in United States Congress:
Come in, drink coffee, shoot the bull,
Leave mess for others to clean up,

Disappear
for rest of day."

A Cold Weather Ha-Ha

WE ALL NEED SOME HUMOR DEALING WITH THE WEATHER…………….

It was snowing heavily and blowing to the point that visibility was almost zero when the little blonde got off work. She made her way to her car and wondered how she was going to make it home. She sat in her car while it warmed up and thought about her situation. She finally remembered her daddy's advice that if she got caught in a blizzard she should wait for a snow plow to come by and follow it. That way she would not get stuck in a snow drift. This made her feel much better and sure enough in a little while a snow plow went by and she started to follow it.

As she followed the snow plow she was feeling very smug as they continued and she was not having any problem with the blizzard conditions.  After an hour had passed, she was somewhat surprised when the snow plow stopped and the driver got out and came back to her car and signaled for her to roll down her window. The snow plow driver wanted to know if she was alright as she had been following him for a long time. She said that she was fine and told him of her daddy's advice to follow a snow plow when caught in a blizzard. The driver replied that it was ok with him and she could continue if she wanted, but he was done with the Wal-Mart parking lot and was going over to Sears next.

A Frickin' Elephant - Your Laugh for The Day

We who have taught, or love children who have been taught,
know this is funny!

From the diary of a Preschool Teacher:

My five-year old students are learning to read.
Yesterday one of them pointed at a picture in a zoo book and said,
"Look at this! It's a frickin' elephant!"
I took a deep breath, then asked..."What did you call it?"
"It's a frickin' elephant!
It says so on the picture!"
And so it does...
" A f r i c a n Elephant "

Hooked on phonics! Ain't it wonderful?
Now that's funny, I don't care who you are.

Signs of a Heart Attack in Women

A dear friend of mine, had an MI
(myocardial infarction = heart attack) recently.
If not for a very insistent co-worker (and friend to us both),
she would not be alive today.
Because 911 was called, and she was rushed to the hospital...
and was able to get a stent placed, within the Golden Hour.

She did not have the Classic symptoms that she associated
with a heart attack.
She had back pain, nausea, vomiting, sweating, and jaw pain.
No severe tightness in the chest.
No radiating pain down her left arm.

Please take a moment to go HERE (The American Heart Association)
HERE, and  HERE
to learn more about heart attacks - how to recognize symtoms
& how to lower your risks.

Do it now - because you have people who <3 you!!!

STR / The Signs to Recognize a Stroke

It  only takes a minute to read this…

A  neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke  victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the  effects of a stroke…totally. He said  the trick was getting a stroke recognized,  diagnosed, and then getting the patient  medically cared for within 3 hours, which is  tough…

RECOGNIZING A STROKE

Thank  God for the sense to remember the ‘3′ steps, STR  . Read and Learn!

Sometimes symptoms of a  stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately,  the lack of awareness spells disaster. The  stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage  when people nearby fail to recognize the  symptoms of a stroke.

Now doctors say a  bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three  simple questions:

S  *
Ask  the individual to SMILE.
T  *Ask  the person to TALK and SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE  (Coherently)
(i.e. It is sunny out  today.)
R  *Ask  him or her to RAISE BOTH  ARMS.

If  he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these  tasks, call emergency number immediately  and describe the symptoms to the  dispatcher.

New  Sign of a Stroke ——– Stick out Your  Tongue

Another ’sign’ of a stroke is this: Ask the  person to ’stick’ out his tongue.. If the tongue  is ‘crooked’, if it goes to one side or the  other,   that is  also an indication of a  stroke.

Bittersweet

I come, I go, I come , I go, I come, I go.
It never seems to get any easier.
I live in a state of GUILT.
I feel guilty when I leave my husband, son, and furbabies behind...
when I head into the deep blue yonder.
I feel guilty when I have to leave whomever that I'm visiting...
to head back home, or to another family member.
However long I stay - it's never enough, yet always too long.
I love visiting with my children, grandchildren, and dear friends.
I thrive on their presence.
I delight in their laughter.
I grieve when they are hurting.
I feel useful when I can be of help, in good times and in bad.
I miss home when I'm gone.
Home = husband, and doggies, and my own bed.
So what do I do?
Yep - this is my new motto!
LOL - like this will ever happen...ME - Calm?
But Carry On, I must - what's the alternative?
