Nativities

I made this sweet little Baby Jesus at a Saturday Christmas in July craft day at my Church back in Florida.

I place my Nativities on my piano.

This set was a gift from my dear friend Vicki. She brought it back from Mexico.

I just purchased this one when I was visiting in Alabama last week.

Heavens - I can't remember where I got this one.

Here is a little glass set that I got at Big Lot's. Behind it is another Baby Jesus that I made.

We bought this one our first Christmas after adopting Big J.

This one belongs to Stephanie Hough. I don't know how I ended up with it. I know that it belongs to Steph because it has her name on the bottom of it. Sorry Steph - if you want it back, you've got to come visit me!

This is a little olive wood Nativity is from the Holy Land. They were giving them to all the Primary Children in Suzanne's Ward last year. They very kindly gave one to me too.

I have more, but these are some of my favorites. I look forward to collecting many more as the years go by.

My First AWARD & Passing It On

I have to thank The Wife for giving me my first Blog Award. It's ridiculous how excited I am by this. I would have posted it sooner, but I get so confused when I'm not on my own computer.

I've Been Tagged

I hate these things, but I will play along and not let Chele down. How could I? It's all about random stuff! I'm supposed to list 7 random facts or weird things about myself. The rules are as follows:

2. Share 7 random and/or weird facts about you.
3. Tag 7 random people at the end, and include links to their blog. (I don't know that I will actually tag 7 people but we will see) lol. Please - don't feel like you must play...my feelings won't be hurt - honest!

So here are my seven randoms.

1. I love my dogs - anybody who really knows me, and loves me , has to accept that they are a part of my family!!! George is a Pug and Gracie is a Carolina Dog (aka - Dixie Dingo)

2. I really love my husband, and I'm so grateful that he lets me have my dogs (as he is NOT an animal person - his only fault I think!) We've been married for 35 years. We started dating when I was in Jr. High School, and got married shortly after I graduated.

3. My father is married to my husband's mother. Think about that one for a while:) It's all legal - I promise!!!

4. We have 10 children ...2 daughters-in-law...2 sons-in-law...13 grandchildren...2 step-grandchildren...AND another grandson due in April. I love them all so much, and miss them a LOT!!!

5. I've spent most of my adult life as a stay at home mom, but I have:

Worked and apprenticed at a Massage Therapy and Alternative Medicine Practice.
Helped to open and run a Charter School, K - 8 for, children with medical needs (and their healthy siblings).
Taught Child Birth and Infant Care Education at a hospital and a birthing center.
Worked at a Pizza Hut.
Worked at a Pre-School.
Sold...Avon, Tupperware, and Longaberger Baskets.
I now sustitute at 3 local schools - when I feel like it, which ain't often.

6. I have homeschooled some of my children - loved it and hated it... depending on the child, subject, phase of the moon etc. etc.

7. I suffered severe brain damage after the birth of my 9th child. Major memory loss. Got loads of blood transfusions. Now have vestibular problems probably due to the brain trauma. Yes - my child gave me brain damage:) HEY - maybe none of the above is true, and I'm just imagining them? Naw - it's all true...I think!

WINTER WONDERLAND

Joey must have taken this picture of Seth. When Steve woke them up to tell them that it was snowing - neither of them believed him. It took him a while to convince them to get up and check it out!

Joey dressed for school. Poor boy - it was cancelled.

Our House - early in the morning. It continued to snow for most of the day, and we eventually had about 8 inches. It didn't melt for several day's. Boo-Hoo, I missed it all!

REMEMBER THIS AT CHRISTMAS TIME

According to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, while both male and female reindeer grow antlers in the summer each year, male reindeer drop their antlers at the beginning of winter, usually late November to mid-December. Female reindeer retain their antlers till after they give birth in the spring. Therefore, according to EVERY historical rendition depicting Santa's reindeer, they all had antlers so...........EVER Y single one of them, from Rudolph to Blitzen, had to be a girl. We should've known... ONLY women would be able to drag a fat man in a red velvet suit all around the world in one night and not get lost.
